The Link Board
At Siscan Books we believe in supporting others who are in business. We choose our sites carefully and with the consumer in mind. Here you will find sites from all facets of life listed below. This may include other book sites, authors' websites, health information, and other sites of link-minded businesses. Our Link Board is for you.
It is important for us to give back to our community so we have also included websites we feel confident are worthy of checking out. If one is looking to do some volunteer work whether it be via the internet, or in an organization, we will post links to sites that are once again in the best interest of our visitors.
Feel free to comment or make a suggestion as to what you would like to see posted on our link board. Thank you and enjoy!
http://www.chemoangels.com/ This is an online volunteer organization that helps people dealing with cancer. The volunteer is a a chemoangel who sends gifts, cards or letters of good cheer while their patient is going through cancer treatment. The success of this program is two-fold. The patient receives good cheers right when they need it and the chemoangel feels a sense of giving smiles to someone they may never meet or even hear from. There is no obligation on the part of the patient to contact their Angel, however most do take the time to send an e-mail, letter or card of heartfelt thanks.
http://www.twitter.com/ By now many of us have heard about twittering. Here is a site where one can leave a short message with those around the world. It is a great way to keep in touch and let others know what is going on in your life. A great social media website enjoyed by the famous and the not so famous.
http://www.canadianwellness.com Here is a site that is most informative. It covers almost every aspect of health awareness. There are options offered in drop down boxes for each province. The listing of where you can find health stores, Massage Therapists, etc., in your local area is a plus. The only drawback to such a great Canadian site is that it is too “click- y.” If you don’t mind clicking or have time to spend reading all the invaluable material it is definitely a well put together site.
The above website is spearheaded by the Collaborative Seniors Portal Network and the three levels of Canada. This site is geared to reaching out to the seniors in our communities. It is a clear concise, easy to read site with the ability to change the font size for those who may not be able to read the small font size. What is great about this site is that it is the first the government of ON has put up with such in depth material. It is useful for both the aging parent and the child as they will be able to surf through the many topics available to read.
If ever you want to learn about the military life past and present then I suggest you click on over to this very informative site. This site came highly recommended to me by our featured author Dorothy Krusky,
If you have a site that you believe is suited to be pinned up to our Links Board we welcome you to send your link. all we ask is that you put our link on your site. All sites will be checked over before posting. Thank you/Merci.
